On Super Saturday, Silly Supermarket Signs!

So over here the price wars amongst supermarkets is hotting up. Everyone wants to be numero uno and so in a bid ot get top place the big guns are slashing prices to entice us into their stores. Tesco's latest offering, amongst great fanfare, it 4 pints of milk for £1. Well maybe, but should they find a new marketing agency we say? Yep when it comes to Moo Moos the giant has done a boo boo and it was quite a poo poo. Keen eyed farmers and shoppers were udderly baffled by the use of beef cows which have never been milked in their lives to promote their campaign. Yep they definitely have a bovine identity crisis. Holy cow, to great expense the campaign has been scrapped but on the udder hand we say they should have milked it for all it was worth.

Have a super Saturday all and before we head off we'd like to thank Laika for our fabulous award and we will pop it onto our awards page with Pride. If you like a good laugh and some hilariously brilliant sketches pop over and say hello and make a new friend (English version is always at the end of each post).

  7. How great, you've got some sunshine! I'm not sure if I would buy milk by cows what have never been milked. Maybe it means you will get 4 pint of nothing for £1? Oh then it is a deal for my mom hahahahaha. Have a great saturday, Molly

  9. Sounds like some real supermarket 'fines' will be coming your way. Wish we had a price war here - everything is so expensive and the price of our milk will be going up according to our news report last night. Thank goodness we don't drink whole milk in this house!

Hope mommy is feeling better - wishing you all a great and restful weekend, Hugs,
    Katie

  23. Maybe showing the beef cows free roaming looked better than the milk cows all in pens with steel attached to their udders. BTW, I hear the US is doing away with big supermarkets cos small grocery stores can get away with charging more.

  24. That is pretty funny! Shows that City folks has no idea about differences...

  27. Hiya Molly - we have same kinda wars over here. One such round was also over fresh milk. A large supermarket was charging $1 a litre and forced the other large supermarket to follow. Only trouble was the poor little boutique farmers (who are scrapping to exist because of LARGE business forever trying to squash them) were being hit hard and could not compete. Needless to say there was a big stink kicked up and the madness was forced to stop. We ALWAYS support the little guy (their product is so much better mum says) and we pay a bit extra to do so.

But that is amazing about using the non dairy cow to promote the dairy cow!! BOL!

  30. Ha, ha! Reminds Mom of when in the 70's a car company introduced the Nova car to Mexico, it sold really well in the USA, but in Spanish it means no go, so no go on sales in Mexico!
