Hog Blog, Ying & Yuk Burgers!

China Introduces the Yin and Yang Hamburger!

China Introduces the Yin and Yang Hamburger!

If you order a burger in McDonalds in China you might find yourself sending them black as they don’t taste white. McDonald’s latest culinary offering is inspired by the Chinese phrase “heibai liangdao tongchi,” which is used to describe those individuals who are connected to both good and bad. The black burger, which represents bad, comes packaged with tasty onions and a black pepper sauce. The white one meanwhile, is supposed to represent good, and comes equipped with a spicy sauce touched with a bit of sweetness. We weren't sure whether these burgers were meant to be a McYin and McYang sign, a tribute to Michael Jackson or just a lab experiment gone wrong. I’m not sure if I relish the idea but I’ll go and chew on it for a while. Holy hamburger, less happy meal more crappy one if you ask me! Don’t expect this meal to hit our domestic shores anytime soon. This reminds me of the man who assaulted his girlfriend with a cheeseburger. The report said the man would not let the woman out of the vehicle, so she threw his drink out of the car. In response, the man allegedly grabbed her arm and smashed the cheeseburger into her face. No one was harmed in this big mac attack, the couple was just having a beef or a right burger bash! If arrested would the official charge be assault with a deadly Whopper?

  6. Too funny, Molly. Mom says she must be bad because she would much prefer the one with onions and the peppery sauce.

  10. Hi Molly,
Are you taking the Ying and Yang out of the nations favorite fast food, those look like they have been buried with the last emperor. You can cancel my order and don't even think about asking me to go large for an extra dollar. I'd sooner eat my kibbles....and that's saying something!

  12. The black one looks best to me with the onions and sauce. But I think if I were lucky enough to visit China, I would stick with real restaurant fare!

  13. I don't get burgers at McDonald's typically (I stick with the chicken), but those items would intrigue me (I love black pepper!) We won't get them Stateside, unfortunately.

  15. Ohhhhh. The local McDonalds offers the "Prosperity Burger" every Chinese New Year. And it's BAD coz it has onions and black pepper sauce but by golly, it's delicious!

  16. Not sure I would like either one. But what a waste of a good cheeseburger to smash it someones face.

  19. Wrigs says he'd happily eat them all: black, white, pink, purple--whatever! If it's a burger he'll take it. Hold the sauce and the onions, though. :-D

  27. I'm not the biggest fan of McDonalds but those McYin and McYang sure look interesting...in some states in America they are now required to put their calorie count next to the burgers and it is disgusting how bad they are!
