Dog House Blog, It’s All In The Name!

Molly The Wally Paws For Thought!

Molly The Wally Brings You The Top 20 weird names animal lovers give to their pets.

Toe-Jam and Pickywickywoowoo are among the 20 most bizarre names that owners have given their pets a recent survey has revealed. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home compiled the list after asking 225,000 facebook and twitter fans to put forward their weird names which were then voted on. Last years’ most popular pet name was Charlie. It seems that it is now the fashion to name your pet with ever more outlandish names. Dog names ranged from the embarrassing to the weird, such as Toe-Jam, Chicken-Fish and Towpath Tidy. Cats' names are as bad with Princess Maisie Dolores, Strawberry Surprise, and Mister Fuzzy Mittens. Just remember when you name your pet you may need to shout it out in the garden or at the park. Imagine, Doobywotsists come back here! With 9,000 dogs and cats coming in every year the staff themselves have to come up with unusual names for their new arrivals. They have to be quite imaginative but maybe not as imaginative as these.

  9. Poor Bootlebumtrinket...how embarrassed he (or she?) must be when he's hanging at the park with his pals and his hoomins start calling him...You can just picture him, tail and ears down, slinking away...or practicing selective deafness...whatever were they thinking?
