Lizzy The Corgi disses Dame Helen Mirren!
For
many aspiring actors appearing in a west end show like ‘The Audience’ with
Oscar winning Dame Helen Mirren would be the opportunity of a lifetime. However,
one actress has been sacked from the production after refusing to work with our
national treasure. Lizzy the corgi, was replaced by theatre bosses just days
before opening night because she would not obey Dame Helens' command. She was expected to un-leash her thespian juices but instead decided to pick bones with the director. They got a
bit hot under the collar as they could not cur-tail her diva hissy fits! Mirren
portrays the Queen as she meets various prime ministers over her 61year reign.
Unfortunately, Lizzy ignores her and only her canine co-star Rocky has finished
the scene after 16 consecutive preview performances. Maybe she was feeling a
bit ruff? Theatre bosses could take no more of her obstinacy and instead
appointed Coco the understudy. The doggy diva and her dis-temper was eventually
sent home with her tail between her legs. Now she's at home, a resting actress,
resting by the fire no doubt. Do you have selective hearing and disobey commands?
Selective hearing is something generally associated with my breed, but I see nothing wrong in that!
ReplyDeleteWhat commands? We hear them as merely requests....which when treats are in evidence, we obey.
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
teeeeheeeee THOSE CORGIS can be a piece of work! Even for the queen or Dame Helen!
ReplyDeleteHUGS TO YOU MOLLY GIRL!
Hi Molly,
ReplyDeleteOn behalf of all us wonderful K9s a little word of advice, we do not obey commands, but merely indulge our owners in their winimiscal ways, so no treats no tricks!
No need to read the post, you'll be laughing at the picture itself.
ReplyDeleteThat's some interesting news about Helen Mirren. I love her as an actress and I am surprised Corgis are not a big fan of her. LOL.
Huggies and Cheese,
Haopee
I hope the dog found a job it likes better, perhaps its better suited to the home front hten the stage

Too funny
ReplyDeleteLizzy was a one owner pup answering to no one except her mum.

HA! Even us kitties understand that selective hearing thing!
ReplyDeleteGoes to show that not everyone is cut out for show business. :)
ReplyDeleteand yes, brown dawgs definitely have selective hearing...
It's not selective by chance. I take some time to analyse and then decided. It is very calculated.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
I always listen to momz...well, except when i'm buzy doing sumfin else ;) Lizzy was a foolish dawgie to give up the chance to work with Dame Helen.. Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteMy older dog has extremely selective hearing.
ReplyDeleteI worry, that if you get to close to a psychiatrist, he might call the guys in the white jackets and we might not hear from you for awhile.
But don't stop.
Maybe Lizzy the Corgi was channeling Greta Garbo. "I want to bark a alone."
ReplyDeleteOh, Molly! That photo! Wrigs sympathizes with Lizzy--he wouldn't listen to Dame Helen either, though he might have paid more attention to her in her role as DCI Tennison on Prime Suspect. Dogs have to weigh the pros and cons in these matters. Wrigs's first question is always "What's in it for me?"
ReplyDeleteSusan and Wrigs
Wouldn't it be hard to send a corgi home with it's tail between it's legs - last time I checked the Welsh Corgi's don't have tails :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteHmmmm...Da only ting me hears is da rattle of da tweet jar! :)
ReplyDeleteHap-Pee Wednesday!
Pugs ONLY have selective hearing....they select to hear, "do you want a cookie" and "do you want to go play outside"...and that IT!!
ReplyDeletestella rose and mags
I can hear only one word "TREATS". This picture is just great!!! Have a wonderful Wednesday ;o)
ReplyDeleteWe can't stop laughing Molly. That picture today is priceless :)

Ha rooooo! Well, I have a new favorite actress now! Way to go, Lizzy!
ReplyDeletePlay bows,
Zim
PS: I'll bet if it was the real Queen and not an actress playing her, Lizzy would have listened!
Sometimes selective hearing attacks our home! =)
ReplyDeleteThat picture is someting special!
Enjoy your day!
Kisses!

Selective hearing??? What did you say? We can't hear you.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
Hmmm - she went home with her tail between her legs, but HOW??? I'm a corgi, and I just have a nubby (no tail). Hmmm - I'll have to figure out how she did that :)

Lets put it this way, MOM, no way, not gonna happen, don't waste your time Mom! Now Dad, you gotta love that Dude, does anything for us, so we do some things, except BARKING!

To imagine Mommy initially wanted to adopt a Corgi! She changed her mind as soon as she laid eyes on me. How could she not? ;)

Ooooh, what a cheeky little thing! I wouldn't dare to diss Dame Mirren!!
ReplyDeleteThey should have brought her chilled Evian and chicken goujons faster :)

I have heard rumors of Dame Helen being a bit difficult to work with so maybe Lizzy just had enough of Dame Helen's gruff?!?
ReplyDelete*Cairn cuddles*

Poor Lizzy who obviously had other more important things on her mind, and go, Coco! Here's your big break! Purrs...
ReplyDeleteHope they paid Lizzie for her effort.
ReplyDeletePoor Lizzy, getting bossed around like that. Our Lady would say we have selective hearing, but we think she just asks stupid things of us. Lee and Phod
ReplyDeleteI select to only hear commans with the words 'porkchop' or 'snackum' in them!
ReplyDeleteYour furend,
Sugar the Who
Those tempermental actresses!
ReplyDeletePat
Critter Alley
I blame creative differences :) And as far as selective hearing goes...well, I try to be attentive, but, if you throw a fat squirrel or a zippy lizard into the mix, all bets are off!
ReplyDeleteThose Corgis have a mind of their own
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
I am trying very hard to hear you.
