Dog House Blog, Marmageddon!

Molly The Wally Loves Her Majesty!


Marmageddon is over as New Zealand shops restock Marmite. The February 2011 quake damaged the only factory in the country that produced Marmite, forcing it to close. Stocks then dwindled, leading to shortages dubbed marmageddon. The shortage led to complaints even from Prime Minister John Key. The website from the manufacturer Sanitarium says, ‘You've rationed, you've scraped, you've survived marmaggedon and now the wait is over. Thanks for not freaking out and for waiting patiently for the black golds’ return.’ You either love it or hate it! This reminded us of the advert last year from Marmite to celebrate the jubilee and yes it involves a corgi giving Marmite the leg-up. Enjoy!

    Ah Molly, we loved the video - thanks for sharing that, we hadn't seen that one! She likes the Marmite but is far far fonder of Vegemite - He and I say it's an acquired taste and being Irish, we don't like it but She has a bit of a Vegemite melt down if She can't find it!!

    And congratulations on the award you certainly deserve it!
