Dog House Blog, Lost N Found!

Molly The Wally Has A Passion For Fashion!

A suitcase of bras, an urn and a baby? Bizarre lost property finds!

Breast implants, a micro pig and Harry Potter’s original wand, are some of the bizarre items left in budget hotel chain ‘Travelodge’ during 2012. Also there was a winning EuroMillions lottery ticket, a diamond-encrusted iPhone and a bucket of live crabs. Keys to a Bugatti, a script from a well-known British soap program, a box of 200 Queen Elizabeth masks, a trunk of chocolate bars and a pantomime horse. These are some of the strange things that customers have left behind in the 527 hotels across the UK. Other weird items include an 8ft pop-up spray tanning booth which was left behind by a group of girls nursing their hangovers needless to say, in Essex. 20,000 books were also left behind in some of the firms’ 38,000 hotel rooms over the past 12 months. Opps, 7,000 of which were of which were copies of Fifty Shades of Grey. Stranger was the suitcase full of pink bras, a collection of watches worth a total of £50,000 and even an 18 month old baby. The inventory details an extraordinary array of items, such as a suitcase packed with designer dog outfits and matching collars in Birmingham, a box of magicians’ tricks in a room in Blackpool and staff in Peterborough reported finding an urn containing the ashes of the guest’s dead wife, which was quickly returned. Another find in Liverpool included a case full of false eye lashes, spray tan and hair extensions, and in Cheshire, staff was shocked when they discovered a dwarf Roborovski hamster in a cage. All items that are not claimed by their owners are donated to Cancer Research UK charity shops. Hopefully not the baby or the hamster? Have you ever left anything strange behind in a hotel room? I want the suitcase packed with designer dog outfits and matching collars.

  7. I left my boring old straw boater hat in a hotel in Sri Lanka and they posted it all the way to the UK for me. That was amazing - probably cost them more than the hat cost me! I like your nose portrait Molly - I was wondering how you keep your hair so glossy - is it all the brushing your peeps do for your lovely locks?

  40. Great nose portrait, Molly! It's nice that she got one of your eyes in there too. :-) I don't think we've ever left anything behind in a motel room and hope we never do. We'd love to know the stories behind some of those items.
