The bike, created by German
designers Tom Hambrock and Juri Spetter, is fixed to the rider with a belt
system suspended from the machine's frame under which the rider is fixed into
pace. The unique bike was entered into the annual James Dyson Award for technology,
innovation and design open to international students and founded by the Dyson
vacuum cleaner inventor. FLIZ comes from the German word 'flitzen' and means
speeding - but with your feet. The concept is to provide healthy, ecological
mobility in overcrowded urban spaces. What the heck's the point of that? My
back is aching just looking at it! A fool and their money are soon parted.
We do love going over to Japan to seek out what bizarre new inventions they have created but today on fun Saturday we thought we have a look at inventions from the past from The West! I think it is fair to say we give Japan a run for the money. Sadly these never caught on nor will that bike....we wonder why?
A Wheelie good idea.....?
An
amphibious bike capable of just looking silly.
Play It Again Sam!
Gas proof pram LOL who said fart?
Radio Head!
And Radio Pram just what every mother needs!
So need bed reading glasses!
A long, long was from home!
A real photo-shoot!
And lastly yikes how to test bullet proof glass!
Have a super Saturday. I am off to invent a squirrel catcher.
You know Miz Molly, I think a squirrel catcher would be a more practical invention!!!!!!!!! GO GET 'EM GIRL!
ReplyDeleteThe yellow bike is stupid. The one wheeler looks cool, if it'd work.
ReplyDeleteThe last picture reminds me of a new article of two security guards who wondered if their bulletproof vests would stop a knife. So they tested it. The stabber stabbed the stabee, and the stabee died. The vest didn't work for a knife..
Awesome collection of horrible things. Makes you wonder who thought, "This would be a great idea." Thank you for a wonderful Saturday morning laugh.
ReplyDeleteThe last one looks scary - I would run like the wind if someone would hold a gun on me, no matter if I had this bullet proof glass or not, hahaha
ReplyDeletePlease inform me about the squirrel catcher - does it work for mice too? Have a fabulous Saturday!
OMD, those are interesting! Have a great Saturday!!
ReplyDeleteSome peeps are just simply crazy! The first one is hilarious but the last one is scary!
ReplyDeleteyou have to wonder what the inventors were on when they came up with some of those things
ReplyDeleteThose are some WHACKY inventions fur SURE...
ReplyDeleteSome of those bikes would be fun to use! Lee and Phod
ReplyDeleteHee hee those are some doozies. !!
ReplyDeleteThose are some really crazy things!
ReplyDeleteThese are real tresures...BOL!
ReplyDeleteOur favorite is the Phoyo shot!
Have a nice weekend!
Kaiser & Farrusquinho
That bike invention is crazy. We thought humans were supposed to RIDE a bike, not have the bike ride them. Wonder how high the decibels are emanating from that radio pram:)
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend, Molly.
Woos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
thanks for the laughs!
ReplyDeleteThat bike looks like something a hamster would use....
ReplyDeleteThat FLIZ is just plain strange...a squirrel catcher is a much better idea Molly...I know lots of dogs you could market that one to...Have a beautiful weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh my Dog!
ReplyDeleteI would not want to trust a piece of glass not to break when a bullet went through it.
Dip Bridge and Elliot x
I don't understand the point of the bike lol... Very interesting older inventions though!
ReplyDeleteMOL MOL MOL Molly where pray tell do you find these pictures?!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lol
Hugs Madi your BFFF
MIZ MOLLY! How faithful of a friend you are my precious pooch! You will see my smile every day that you post, though my nose will be in a poetry book and my hand scribbling and scratching away at my attempt at poetry! Hugs to you all, Anita
ReplyDeleteHow do you keep coming up with this stuffs some funny and some just stupid, Hey!
ReplyDeleteThe Mad Scots
Great post Molly! Those were some really stooped inventions. Butt the funny thing is we saw on one of those Antique Shows that one wheeler bikes (picture #2). It was pretty funny to watch it go down the street.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Lily Belle & Muffin
Don't know whether to applaud those inventive minds.....or be worried.
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
Tee hee I had to show the bikes to my bike loving hubby
ReplyDeleteUrban hounds
where do you find this stuff? lol
ReplyDeleteI love you paper Molly! Hey, I don't think a ride on that Wheelie would be fun!
ReplyDeleteHmm, Molly, are you trying to invent a new toilet paper holder? Better stick with the squirrel catcher. These so called inventions are definitely wacky.
ReplyDeletePurrs,
Cindi Lou & The Kitty Krew
I don't think I'd volunteer to test the glass!
ReplyDeleteYipes! Some hoomins have funny ideas. :)
ReplyDeleteOk - I think I'll pass on ALL of those. Yikes!
ReplyDeletepeople have some strange ideas....hehehe
ReplyDeleteSome people have far too much time!! mol xx
ReplyDeleteWe thought they were pretty interesting. While you're at it with the squirrel catcher, can you invent a veggie dispenser too?
ReplyDeleteCocoa
Good luck with the squirrel catcher Molly, just hope you ignore some of these early inventions 'cos I think you might have problems otherwise!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your squirrel catcher will be much better than any of those other inventions!
ReplyDeleteMolly, where do you find these things?! I can't imagine why they never caught on. I wonder if the gas-proof pram was developed during World War I? Hope you devise a squirrel catcher. Wrigs and I know a lot of dogs who would place an order for one of those.
ReplyDeleteSusan and Wrigs
Molly-
ReplyDeleteWhen you perfect your squirrel catcher, we would like to buy two dozen, Pleeze.
Wyatt and Stanzie
That first invention of the bike... makes absolutely NO sense whatsoever. I don't get it. You are still using your feet on a bicycle, by pumping the pedals. So how was this any better? *scratching head*
ReplyDeleteLOL imagine the trauma for that poor baby in the gas proof pram! Claustrophobic for life!
ReplyDeleteOk that bike thing...I would get all tangled up in that...lol.
