Our Share It Sunday Christmas Special!
A collection of stories
told through photographs, and occasionally with words, about the Twenty-three
incredible rescue dogs that share their lives with me in Mexico. Kathryn
Watching the midsummer rains
come down!
Enjoying the last green grass of
the season!
Snapshot from the Ranch!
The senior family member here at
the ranch & also quite possibly the best cuddler!
Waiting for the belly rub!
And finally
Thank you so much for visiting my
blog.
I am originally from Canada and now make my home in Mexico.
My home is in fact a shelter for 23 dogs, a whole lot of rescue horses,
and two lovely cats. There is another Hominid here at the ranch, and
this is his great effort as well, but he does prefer to remain separate from
the blog and so with all respect he shall.
Some 200 dogs have passed through our home and our hearts… taken
off the street, out of the pound, and away from various dire situations; to be
adopted out to loving forever homes. Of those 200 there are always the ones
that are a challenge. They have a certain dark and ominous shadow looming
behind them, a shadow which is made up of other people saying “why don’t you
just put them down?”. This is not said because they are suffering in any kind
of way (peace and freedom is always most lovingly granted to those in need) but
is said instead because of the amount of time and care they are obviously going
to need.
You just know what their fate will be if you part with them.
Those are the dogs that make up my pack of 23. They are the
overly aggressive or shy, they are the ones that pee and bark too much, they
have hip dysplasia and are deaf, they are mangy and have terrible breath
(beyond dog breath), they have had disease and will never be completely well
again, they climb onto the dining room table when I am not looking and
sometimes when I am, and what might not be so readily obvious to some but
shines through clear to me (and is the reason I created this blog) is that they
are all, each and every one of them, beautiful, special, loving, and deserving
of love.
Hopefully everyone will make an appearance here eventually, but as
of yet not everyone is so comfortable with the camera, or won’t slow down long
enough to try it out!
I really hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Kathryn
Continuing to give something back on my ‘Share It Sunday’. We all
share and we grow together. Pop over say
hello and make a new friend.
From the author Molly The Wally.
And don’t forget Roo’s
Power Of The Paw web site where we can stop over and wish our furry friends who
are under the weather well.
How wonderful for the less desirable pups, to have a safe place with love.

What a great thing to dedicate yourself to...to rescue the lonely animals! LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteAND..............MERRY CHRISTMAS MIZ MOLLY AND COMPANY! Anita
How lovely that you can squeeze so many little souls into your loving home. Some dogs can't be re-homed but still have a lot to give. I have enjoyed walking rescue dogs at our local terrier rescue this year, most have been hurt or have hurt someone, are confused, misunderstood or angry and all have lots of affection to give. I can't have a dog of my own, but visiting these dogs is very rewarding. I get to cuddle them, groom them and walk them. Betty
