Bark From The Park, Neat Dude Collective!

Molly The Wally Protests!

We love the Neat Dude Collective here who have produced the poster below as it sums up just how we feel as the weather gets warmer and our park is overrun with yet more music events. Yes, if you like Glastonbury, Loaded On The Park or The Big Chill go elsewhere as we don’t want Yet Another F**king Music Festival. Music festivals are fun if you are 18 but let us be honest once you get past a certain age camping in a muddy field and queuing for hours to go to the toilet is not appealing. Nor is listening to some rubbish 80s comeback band you never liked in the first place, the never heard of YouTube star or the band your friends, friends, friends cousin is in. More importantly it scares away the squirrels and that is my job. That reminds of the time I broke into an event to say hello to the cows they were showing. I got shouted at by my peeps as I slid under the security fencing. What a lark in the park as I was chased by three security men for ten minutes before they caught me. Alas I never got to say hello to the cows, drats. Peoples always ruin my fun.

Anyway news is out that the oldies The Rolling Stones will be playing at Glastonbury so we thought we'd bring you their number one fans. Enjoy!

  1. The Rolling Stones is one band I am willing to endure $10 beers, $8 waters and a long line at the loo to watch. After all Mick isn't going to be around that much longer! I was disappointed his 50 year tour didn't come near me!

    1. OMD Taryn-saw them in the Astrodome in Houston in 1981 - gosh, me and the Stones were sure a lot younger then!

  2. MIZ MOLLY! Well the nerve, quel coulot those peeps have to invade your sacred area to chase the squiggles and peep-watch! I prefer silence in my parks and if I want to listen to any band, I'll crank up my own music! Enjoy a lovely day sweet Miz M.!

  3. The only thing that could made that video better is if Mick jumped in with L & H for a chorus or two...speaking of unwanted events...It's race season here in our neighborhood...that means early early every Saturday morning we've got hundreds of fools queuing up to run around MY lake...they bring in portapotties, loudspeakers and lots of trash and totally blow our Saturday serenity...Only good part is they're usually gone by noon...all but their trash that is...Wish Momz let me out to put the bitey on them

  5. Music festivals are sort of beyond me. But somebody must be going...lol.

PS I saw the Stones on their first retirement tour. (I think that was the 80's.) To me they retired at that time. I guess they forgot...lol.

  7. Hahaha the video is funny. Our Lady has a friend who still likes festivals and she is over 18 (way, way over 18). She wears depends at them so she doesn't have to use the bathroom. LOL!

Have a rockin' good day. Lee and Phod

Hope you're having a wonderful and howlin' Saturday.

  9. We used to have a music festival site about 20 miles from here... It drew THOUSANDS of peeps and nearly shut down the interstate highway system in that section.
Our peeps once went to a Beach Boys Concert... THAT was bad enough. The concert was FINE butt OH the PEEPS... SOME acted like Squirrels.

  13. We are relieved you didn't get close to the cows, Molly. Have you seen how big they are?!

  14. We like the idea of a dog friendly festival too. But like you, we are old enough to have no interest in hanging out in a muddy field looking for a place to pee.

  19. Molly....
While scrolling my eyes down that hilarious poster, the first thing I saw was: "The crowd will smoke weed at this performance". {Then I cringed!!} And that is not even on the top!! Go figure!! ;op

  22. That poster was hilarious! I guess you can blame Woodstock, which TW was bummed she couldn't go to even though she was only like 13. Most arena shows are geriatric bands. TW once went to a Wreckless Eric oldies show and was sorry she went. HAH!

  25. Sooo glad I joined your blog! That cracked me up!! Love it! Yep, I would actually like to see a concert but here they all seem to play outdoors in the Texas heat and want $10 beers and I can listen to my music at home WITH air conditioning and almost free drinks too! Plus now they do that whole mosh pit thing and shove each other and hurt each other...what's up with that?! Enjoy your serenity now while ya can :)

  27. That's one classy poster. I love all the things they mention... $10 beers, $8 waters... ESPECIALLY the kids on drugs.

I got a good chuckle out of it because everything on that poster is so true. Molly, you and your human are so clever :)

  28. Oh yes, I remember the days when I was a 16 yr old in a tent loving the music - now I have an 18 year old who does the same stuff and loves muddy tents. I wouldn't like that in a park near me either but my younger son would be down there with his mobile tuck shop (bicycle) to sell cans of drink through holes in the fence at huge profit.

  29. you weren't able to say hello to the cows? too bad. that would have been nice. but you know they're way bigger than us right?

  30. Molly, what a great post, you are one clever little newshound. Loved the video...I can see the likeness too with Robbie Williams and his distant relative Stan Laurel (they even move the same)! lol.

  32. Love that poster! Where I live, the latest obsession is motorcycle events (the louder the better). I would gladly have a music festival in lieu of a bunch of noisy bikers. ;-) That video is great! The Rolling Stones may be old, but they've still got it!
