Dog House Blog, Freaky Funny Friday!

Halloween has been and gone but sadly not in Pittsburgh USA where an imposter stalks the mean streets. For Gary Matthews, 47, has been living the life of a pooch for years, donning on a white and grey costume made from paper. He also wears an over sized collar proudly displaying his name Boomer.  Boomer loves nothing more than roaming his neighborhood, barking at passing cars and returning home for a bowl of biscuits and a nap in his kennel. He now eats dog food, slurps water from a bowl on the floor and sleeps in an indoor doghouse fitted with a bed. He doesn't wear his full costume all the time but when he wakes up in the morning he ties his long hair into two bunches atop his head for ears. And when he leaves the house, he always carries a squeaky toy under his arm. In 2010, he tried to legally change his name to Boomer the Dog but a judge refused, claiming that the change could put the public welfare at risk. Ronald W. Folino, an Allegheny County judge, said it could cause confusion in the marketplace and that it could prove problematic if Matthews was required as a witness to a crime. So if ever you are in Pittsburgh pop over and join Boomer for a walk and a bark..... on second thoughts run away real fast he's not real.

    WE are gonna BE in PittsBurger in TUESDAY... FUR REAL we ARE.... beclaws guess who ELSE is gonna be in PittsBurger??? Ernie's ROXY's MUM is gonna be there and we will get to MEET her in the FURS.... BUTT we think we would NOT want to meet Boomer though. He would scare us.

    Wow, what a story! Parental Unit does love Pittsburgh-she grew up not far from there... We live a 3 hour drive a way, so we'll have to visit this crazy fella!

    I just read about Boomer last night... my mom and I watched a documentary a few months ago about this sort of thing, although Boomer wasn't in it. Apparently, there are people who truly believe that they are animals. They had people who thought they were a wolf, leopard, and raccoon. They dressed up and went out in the woods to frolic like animals. It was pretty weird.
