Slaying the Chain–Kayaking Works the Core.

Gizmo here on FitDog Friday to tell you about a great core, balance and body awareness workout I did for the Fall Session of K9 Kamp.

  


Momz and I were invited to take part in The Chain of Lakes Paddle Challenge to benefit the Public Education Partnership of Winter Haven, FL.   40 paddlers set out early on a gorgeous Fall morning and I was the only four-legger in the pack. There were 3 courses set out, 2.6 miles, 4.15 miles and 7 miles. We thought about trying for the longest one, but it was a windy day causing a lot of chop on the water so we, and most of the others, chose the middle distance.

Now I know it looks like I’m just sightseeing while Momz does all the work, but that’s not true…We were out for almost 3 hours and I was working my core hard the whole time, and practicing my balance and body awareness skills. It was like balancing on a wobble board or fitness ball the entire time and I’m proud to tell you that I mastered it. Take a look at my video and you can see what I mean…

Kayaking may not be for everydog, but for me it’s a fun way to enjoy a beautiful day on the water and keep fit and healthy at the same time.
