It Is All In The Name On Fun Friday!


Whilst busy contemplating this and that we thought as it is fun Friday we take a look at Britain's silliest street names. From lazy to dumb we sure got them covered.

  8. Snappersnipes is my favorite because I am the MadSnapper. these are really strange and some are just weird. our streets and avenues here are all numbered.

  12. Hi Molly, I can´t stop laughing again - this funny street names - I call it typical for Britain....? Here we have also funny names - but not one like those you show today. I love "Käsebrod" - that means cheesbread....because I love cheese.....have a wonderful sunny friday and a great weekend. So long

    MY GOODNESS those are the craziest street names! WHY are they named as such? Are street names aren't so strange, (at least to us Yankees!) I just want to squeeze you Miss M...so happy to have you back!

  17. OMP These are too funny! We have a street a couple over from us here at the Hotel Thompson that is called Easy Street. What's funnier is that above the street sign it says "No Outlet". Snoticles every time we pass it. XOXO - Bacon

  18. How Funny.... there used to be a STINK STREET in the city near us... They got the name changed about 30 years ago. Now it is known as Tenth Street.

  32. We have tons of silly street names here too. I think that there may be a "no name street" somewhere around these parts too. Another ones that come to mind is "hairy man road" (which has a scary story to go with it).

  35. We actually have a place near Barnstaple called Snapper! Our daughter lives near a road called Inner Ting Tong! Lol. Hope your mum is feeling better Molly.

  36. Bwahaahaa! The CRAZY thing here is each small town you go in, has the same street names!

    Our Grandpa wanted to rename his street Private Road in honour of all the privates killed in wars. But the county wasn't having it, so it continued to be a through street for traffic!

  44. Here in the U.S., a really rural area is referred to as Podunk. And we have a Podunk Road near our town.

    It's located near Swamp College Road, another real winner.

    I don't want to know what kind of degree you get in a Swamp College. :)

  45. We've seen a Sore Finger Road which was pretty funny. But it doesn't compare to Horse Thief Recreation Area and Frozen Head State Park.

  48. There's one in Sydney called Frankie Laine. I wanna live on Bow Wow and Mum's definitely gotta move to Dumb woman's Lane and Grump Street is where Dad should live. Crikey you got a place for everyone over there, aye??

  55. Bow Wow? Seriously? I just found out we have a street in town called 1000 Avenue. We also have a Dudd Street. What’s that, TW? Dodd Street? Oh, well that’s stupid too.

  61. those are so funny! We can't think of any here, but we'll start paying more attention! I can tell you my favorite intersection here is the corner of Churchill Street and Churchill Way. Just ... you know. The whole Churchill thing and me being who I am.
