The Cabbage Patch Kid Dolls are back be afraid.
After yesterdays trip on ‘The Tube’ we thought we’d pop onto ‘The Tardis Line’ and head off back to 1984. It came to our attention that Mr.Dan Knowlton has a collection of 600 dolls which he has been amassing since the 80s. But these are no ordinary dolls. They are none other than the sinister, piggy eyed, disfigured monstrosities known as the Cabbage Patch Kids. He has spent thousands of pounds buying the dolls and has dedicated three rooms of his flat to the collection. The 41-year-old spends several hours a week caring for the creepy creations, changing their outfits and dusting where they sit. There are so many that the dolls are spread throughout Mr Knowlton's bedroom, lounge and study. Imagine waking up in the middle of the night with one of these things staring you right at you let alone 600. Less doll more troll if you ask me! He has even twice travelled to the birth place of the dolls in Georgia, US. He said, 'My Cabbage Patch Kids are my children. They're easier to cope with. They have a few hand-me-down clothes from my nieces, and I've even made a few outfits for them over the years. There's something about the old dolls which takes me back to my childhood. I'd love to own a Helen Blue but it would set me back around 15,000 dollars. I'll have to win the lottery first.’ Yikes these are some of the toys you would not like to see come alive like in Toy Story. Mummy! Mummy! Have you seen my Cabbage Patch Doll? Be quiet and finish your coleslaw!

Hmmmm. wonders the Momster -there is big box of those Cabbage Patch dolls in the storage room waiting for her to decide whether to keep or donate to the Goodwill. Maybe she needs to take a closer look. But let's hope she doesn't decide to start decorating our abode with them - they are really creepy looking.

ReplyDeleteThose are truly creepy dolls, Molly! We think Dan Knowlton needs a dog--a real, live dog--to get his mind off those Cabbage Patch creatures.
