Flog It Bog It, Threads On Thursday!


Needles clackers and happy hookers have jumped to it and worked up a sweat all in a good cause recently. The penguin Foundation in Australia didn't actually post out a call to arms or should we say a call to needles but they have been overwhelmed by the influx of slick pullovers made for the penguins which are usually used when they are affected by oil spillages. The sweaters are thought to keep penguins from ingesting toxic oil with their beaks while cleaning and to keep them warm despite the loss of their natural oils. Regardless of the muddle up they are pleased with the world-wide contribution and as for us we think the penguins look well cute. What is the strangest thing you have ever made?

    Gorgeous and yes the cry goes out..Philip Island always needs them in case of emergency...and in Tassie too...I have a pattern and must start some :) bless em they are sweet as the dickens...hugs Fozziemum xxx

    WE think this is PROOF that this is the WORSTEST WINTER EVER... When PENGUINS need sweaters... fur WHATEVER reason... it is just TOO DARNED COLD.

    I wish we could make a penguin sweater too. Sadly no penguin of the world would wear one of my mom's creations. The strangest thing, my mom made for me, was a dog bed cover . My dad thought it's a body bag and my mom was mortally offended. Have a great thursday Molly.

    Those penguins do indeed look well cute. Especially the one in the traditional Penguin book cover jersey!
    But perhaps you remember Gail's knitted bicycle seat cover….

    Dear Molly,
    we agree with you, the penguins are so amazing with those pullovers! The strangest thing I have ever made, was to bite a piece of Joy's ear while we were playing together. That was the worst thing also I have ever done, even without intention!

    Oh my gosh, that's adorable. I wonder if they can swim okay in those though?? I presume they looked into that before decking them out in their new "jumpers." (Look, I used the English term! A gold star for me??) I love the one in the dead-fish motif. I used to have a whole collection of dead-fish earrings. You'd be surprised how many pairs you can find!

    Strangest thing I have ever made. Strange things happen to me but I don't know that I make strange things. Penguin sweaters would a penguin really wear a sweater. I like the sweater with the octopus on it.
