Mega Mischief Monday & Crocodile Tears!

Wonder Boy's 2nd cousin has come over from Australia to visit and at 84 we are so impressed he can still travel. So today as it is Mischief Monday we will tell you a little story about 2nd Cousin George. When he was a wee laddy he somehow managed to get hold of a crocodile down at the docks. He promptly took it home and looked after it in a big tank in the garage of a regular suburban house in North London. Now Oscar started to grow really big and his mum was not happy about him living with them. The last straw came when Oscar managed to escape into the garden and a horrified mum spotted him out there sunning himself with a huge smile on his face and a very grey bushy tail hanging form the side of his mouth. Yes Oscar was a Squirrel Killer. After much screaming and yelling 2nd Cousin George wrestled Oscar back into his tank. What happened next you ask? Oscar was promptly donated to London Zoo. As for 2nd Cousin George it was the start of a long career as a real life Crocodile Dundee. Yes he has hunted them, caught them, killed rogue crocs and keeps them. Even at 84 he is still friends with his beloved Cassius. From small acorns......Oaks do grow!!!!!

Cassius – World’s Largest Crocodile in Captivity.

Cassius has called Green Island’s Marineland Melanesia home since 1987 when relocated from Australia’s Northern Territory and is estimated to be at least 110+ years old! At 5.48 metres long (17ft 11.75inches) he is a reputed man-eater!

Cassius is fed regularly at the crocodile shows and quite often George Craig likes to feed Cassius personally and it’s quite amazing to witness the special connection he has developed with this incredible animal after nearly 30 years of being his caretaker.

Cassius  and if you fancy discussing handbags and shoes he has his own Facebook  https://www.facebook.com/CassiusTheCroc

and on video...

Have a marvellous Monday all and cheers to an amazing 2nd Cousin George..

  10. My Jessy lives in Florida not far from the Everglades. She says when it rains a lot, the alligators come out of the canals. One even has his own parking space. You'd better not park there. He'll come out and take a nap under your car, and you'll be walking home!

  11. I've heard stories about crocs in the sewers of Ney York. People flush them when they're babies and they grow and reproduce!

  22. Wow! That is one huge croc! When I was a child, we lived in New Orleans and people used to sell baby alligators on the side of the road along with baby turtles. They would have a big tub of tiny gators. It was banned, because people were turning them loose in streams and drainage ditches when they grew too big. My mom wouldn't buy me one, although I did get a turtle. ☺
