Flog It Blog It, Top Of The Flops Some Crappy Inventions!

The bike, created by German designers Tom Hambrock and Juri Spetter, is fixed to the rider with a belt system suspended from the machine's frame under which the rider is fixed into pace. The unique bike was entered into the annual James Dyson Award for technology, innovation and design open to international students and founded by the Dyson vacuum cleaner inventor. FLIZ comes from the German word 'flitzen' and means speeding - but with your feet. The concept is to provide healthy, ecological mobility in overcrowded urban spaces. What the heck's the point of that? My back is aching just looking at it! A fool and their money are soon parted.

We do love going over to Japan to seek out what bizarre new inventions they have created but today on fun Saturday we thought we have a look at inventions from the past from The West! I think it is fair to say we give Japan a run for the money. Sadly these never caught on nor will that bike....we wonder why?

A Wheelie good idea.....?

An amphibious bike capable of just looking silly.

Play It Again Sam!

Gas proof pram LOL who said fart?

Radio Head!

And lastly yikes how to test bullet proof glass!

Have a super Saturday. I am off to invent a squirrel catcher.

  1. You know Miz Molly, I think a squirrel catcher would be a more practical invention!!!!!!!!! GO GET 'EM GIRL!

  2. The yellow bike is stupid. The one wheeler looks cool, if it'd work.
The last picture reminds me of a new article of two security guards who wondered if their bulletproof vests would stop a knife. So they tested it. The stabber stabbed the stabee, and the stabee died. The vest didn't work for a knife..

  3. Awesome collection of horrible things. Makes you wonder who thought, "This would be a great idea." Thank you for a wonderful Saturday morning laugh.

  4. The last one looks scary - I would run like the wind if someone would hold a gun on me, no matter if I had this bullet proof glass or not, hahaha
Please inform me about the squirrel catcher - does it work for mice too? Have a fabulous Saturday!

  13. That bike invention is crazy. We thought humans were supposed to RIDE a bike, not have the bike ride them. Wonder how high the decibels are emanating from that radio pram:)

    Happy weekend, Molly.

  21. Great post Molly! Those were some really stooped inventions. Butt the funny thing is we saw on one of those Antique Shows that one wheeler bikes (picture #2). It was pretty funny to watch it go down the street.

  25. Hmm, Molly, are you trying to invent a new toilet paper holder? Better stick with the squirrel catcher. These so called inventions are definitely wacky.

  32. Good luck with the squirrel catcher Molly, just hope you ignore some of these early inventions 'cos I think you might have problems otherwise!!

  33. I'm sure your squirrel catcher will be much better than any of those other inventions!

  34. Molly, where do you find these things?! I can't imagine why they never caught on. I wonder if the gas-proof pram was developed during World War I? Hope you devise a squirrel catcher. Wrigs and I know a lot of dogs who would place an order for one of those.

  36. That first invention of the bike... makes absolutely NO sense whatsoever. I don't get it. You are still using your feet on a bicycle, by pumping the pedals. So how was this any better? *scratching head*

  37. LOL imagine the trauma for that poor baby in the gas proof pram! Claustrophobic for life!

  38. Ok that bike thing...I would get all tangled up in that...lol.
