New York Artist serves up rat for dunner!
A New York artist has served up quite possibly every humans worst nightmare, a gourmet meal made from rats. Brooklyn based Laura Ginn put together the $100 a head feast. She plated up two courses of vermin inspired food, beginning with a rat and pork paté and following up with an entree of braised rat. What no ratatouille! The rat-ionale behind the event was to explore urban self-sufficiency and was entitled 'tomorrow we will feast on what we catch'. Ginn ‘The Verminator’ served the meal wearing a dress made from 300 rat-skins. The most dramatic plating of the evening was an entire crispy rat head mouth open, teeth jutting forward and a back leg sat atop French toast, toes and claws visible. At the end of the meal all the plates were empty and Ginn cleared up the leftover bones which she is using to decorate the tables for future brave diners. Bone appetite! The after dinner entertainment comprised of a showing of ‘Pie-Rats of The Caribbean’. Maybe next time she can try cockroach crisps, squirrel sushi and vole volauvents? Sounds good to me!

I enjoy chasing them and if I was desperate I'm sure I could eat one! I suppose it's a good idea to start thinking about urban self sufficiency but She just can't get past the "rat" word!!
