Molly The Wally Brings You Her Top Ten Japanese Toys!
No one does
weird toys like Japan. From the Obama presidential action figure to robot cockroaches
we bring you our top ten bizarre Japanese toys.
We were all told that poking your finger at something was rude but in Japan that is apparently not the case. The Tuttuki Bako Finger Game lets you poke your finger to your hearts delight without fear of retribution. Each stage features something you interact with by poking at it. Stick your finger in the box and a digital representation appears on the screen mimicking your motions. The game includes terrorizing a tiny stick man, prodding a slimy face, poking a girl in the face and flicking a tiny panda. Wow we can’t wait for the squirrel version!
Love key-chains
of cute little animals? We think the anatomically correct ‘Gotochi Dissection Animals’
may be going a wee bit too far. Displaying a diagram of the muscles and organs
inside of a variety of animals including fish, pigs, cows and even a panda this
is a must for all vets. All the parts are labelled. Brilliant when out shopping!
Take one to your butcher or fishmonger and you are guaranteed the right cut
every time.

From the land of
the rising sun we bring you robotic cockroaches. The Hex Bug emulates a roach
with sensors that tell it when to change direction when it hits a wall. They
also react to loud sounds by scurrying away in fear. We can only imagine where
they scatter to when you turn off the light? To try to make the bugs seem cute
they are available in blue, pink, green, yellow and orange. Prepare yourself for an army of robot cockroaches set
to storm across kitchens everywhere courtesy of Bandai!
Everything in Japan
is a robot, even the big man upstairs it would seem. God sometimes takes too long to answer prayers, so
when you need an answer right away ask the cross carrying God Jesus robot. This strange all knowing Japanese toy can
answer your questions in a magic 8-ball style. A must whenever you have a
pressing problem that needs divine intervention.
Why bother telling your little one the cat was sent to live with granny?
Just throw them this toy and they can figure it out on their own. We know the ‘Road
Kill Cat’ this will guarantee hours of crying.
Now we have another
politically incorrect toy with ‘Kaba Kick’. Look at the kid's face! Low and
behold it is a kids’ version of Russian Roulette. So wrong it is right
up our street!
If you have
got a few thousand yen spare ($200) and a big case of narcissism then you have
to buy one of these. The ‘Grand Chariot’ doppelganger figurines, has to be one
of the creepiest creations to come out of the land of the rising sun. Capture
yourself forever in plastic. Even better capture someone you dislike in plastic
and stick pins in it we say!
One for
Sarge now! ‘Kankichi Ryotsu’ is a comic book character who is big in Japan. He
is always getting himself into unsavory situations. The accessories include handcuffs and a firearm
and his very own Tamagotchi pet… Well every police officer needs one, don’t
they?
Barak Obama
apparently has inspired somewhat of a cult following in Japan so it is hardly
surprising that a toy tribute is available on the market. The figure includes
an American flag, a stool, several ties and a microphone stand and the
essential Samurai swords. What president would be without one?
And lastly we bring you the ‘H-Bouya USB Toy’. In
Japan, “H” or ‘ecchi’ stands for ‘hentai’ which is the word for erotic in
Japanese. The innocent baby boy will turn red and blink whenever you type that
forbidden letter. In Hertford, Hereford
and Hampshire, hurricanes hardly ever happen! There you go, it just
turned purple and blew up.
Tomorrow as we have a
passion for fashion we take a look at what the well heeled boys n gals are
wearing in the land of the rising sun.
You lost us at 'road kill cat'.....

ReplyDeleteLovies, Miss Mindy
OH MY! I just about fell off my chair...OK, Ihave been to Japan and I WAS THE VICTIM of finger pointing! I have very black hair but I am much taller than the average Japanese woman. So there I am in a department store in Ginza Square and the women are all pointing at me, laughing and slapping their hips....I could NOT understand why they were pointing at me. My manager (I was on a dance and theatre tour) who knew the culture explained the custom of pointing....they were also confused as to why I looked like them (with the very white skin but dark hair) but had HIPS and tall stature!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just about died laughing.
ReplyDeleteOK, the rest of these toys are B I Z A R R E, but only MIZ MOLLY can sniff out the craziest of things. ONCE AGAIN, you have brought us the best to laugh at my dears!

That cat...ewwwww. We have a Hex Bug! But it isn't a cockroach (Mommy's afraid of them). It buzzes around the room, bumping into stuff and just scurries on. We don't really know what to make of it.
ReplyDeleteInteresting selection

Japan has some truly amusing and amazing products! I actually kind of want one of those God Jesus robots, and perhaps a medical model keychain. The hentai can stay where it is, however!
