Flog It Blog It, If The Caps Fits!

When Laura Gambrel, 22, of Zionsville, graduated from Indiana University in May, her mother ordered a cake with a picture of her face, a scroll and the schools’ colors which are red and white. She instructed the local baker to draw a graduation cap on her daughters’ head, but the worker must have misheard the request and instead drew this. ‘I can only image them doing it and thinking I was going to vet school or something,' Laura Gambrel said. 'My mom thought it would be funny to get a face cake. She got it and she asked them to draw a little cap on. But when she went to pick it up later, she saw that there was a cat on it, and started laughing hysterically and said, 'No, that's not what I meant at all.' The family were so amused by the mix-up that they decided to keep the cake. Carol Gambrel, 59, admitted that the boy at the bakers’ shop had given her an odd look when she ordered the cake, but did not realise he had misheard her. 'It was one of those young kids behind the counter and he seemed a little distracted with someone else ordering a cake a foot away from us. We went through the school colors and everything, and I said, 'Oh, could you draw a cap on her head? she explained. 'When my mom got to the store and started laughing they tried to wipe off the cat and put on a plastic cap, but she told them to keep it.' Well less of if the cap fits more if the cat fits then.

Speaking of which.....

The Cat From Hell made us these great pix for our poll over on the right, just one click and vote....am I a devil or an angel or maybe a bit of both?

  15. Hilarious! I particularly love the "finally proud of you" cake. That had to be from family and probably wasn't a mistake in wording. Family always knows how to say that extra special thing (ha).

  16. "Find the toenail"?!? Umm… that might be the one cake my mom passes on.
The lady who does my mom's hair has quite the heavy Southern accent. After she washed mom's hair, she said, "Let me get a wrap for your head" only Mom heard her say, "Let me get a RAT for your head"! A friend drew a cartoon of it for her. Ha roo roo roo. Mom with a rat on her head.
