Oh What A Mess On Moanday Mischief Monday!

Wonder Boy and peep's sissy got a new car and kindly suggested we tag along and go to the beach for the day. So peeps luckily was on automatic pilot and packed the old going out bag which we haven't used in ages as Ancient Pip was no longer able to do day trips. On the back seat went the blanket and in the boot went two of my massive beach towels. In the bag was water, one whole roll of kitchen towel, several empty plastic bags, my paw wipes and hand wipes for the peeps. So off we went. I sat in the back with sissy.

Now everyone had forgotten what a bad passenger I am. One hour into the journey my breakfast made an appearance all over sissy's white trousers. A stop off and the blanket bagged up to be washed later we headed off again. Half an hour later and the remainder decided to make an appearance.

On arrival sissy had to buy new trousers and peeps a new top. The beach we use to go to no longer allowed dogs. It poured down when we arrived at the one that did. The grey cloud followed us everywhere. We couldn't find a hostelry that welcomed dogs. We ate fish and chips at a road side cafe and I couldn't have any because of the ickies. We ran into a massive traffic jam on the way home.

That is why peeps says we never go anywhere. Hope your holiday trips are more successful than ours. We are grounded again....big sigh.

Sissy now spends her time bemoaning about the time I was sick in her designer hand bag and another time in her Hunter wellies. Oh well at least she has fond memories LOL.

Have a marvellous Moanday Monday all.

  1. Oh my! This sounds like the type of trip Chloe would have been on! She doesn't do very well in the car either...no matter how hard we try!! We sure do hope that you get to go for a little ride at least...and sorry that you are grounded!!

  2. The holiday from hell! Sorry, we're laughin'. We know we shouldn't. But it sounds like our luck.

  3. Oh dear, that doesn't sound to successful! I hope your next trip is more successful :-). One tip my breeder (who is always travelling around for shows) told us is that an empty takeaway coffee cup makes a great sick catcher! Hooman used that tip when she picked me up as a puppy, and for a while never travelled anywhere without one :-).

  10. Typical Summer day by the sound of it young Molly, never mind, we know lots of beaches where you would be welcome. Just ask. No squirrels though they get sand foot on the beach it seems. Luv's Cat Flap Cavalier X

  15. MOLLY bless your little sweet heart. Getting car sick is the worst. My longest car ride is once a year to the Vet, which thankfully, is only 10 minutes from home. I haven't gotten sick but Mom complains of a massive ear ache. Those cafes not welcoming pups should be a shamed. That was just too much mischief for one day.
    Hugs madi your bfff

  16. Our old Charisma dog used to get sick in the car. In fact the reason she came to live with us was because of her carsickness. Her original family hated it and didn't want her anymore. So she came to live with us. And thus our family doggie legacy began! Too bad about your fateful trip. What a crummy day! Hope you're feeling better now.

  19. Maybe just stay home and go for a walk. We all love car rides and don't get sick so we are beach bound quite often. Make your adventures in your yard - that can be lots of fun too!

  20. Oh that was not really a good trip. It's that darned hurricane Bertha what messed up the weather. And you can blame it on Bertha too that you had a hurricane in your tummy too. My mom likes the idea to get new pants or a bag or wellies... can she borrow you for a car ride? Have a good monday, hope the hurricane in your tummy is on the same way to north like that Bertha.

  21. Oh no....you get car sick?!? That is terrierible. I love road trips and I have (thankfully) never gotten sick from it. And oh how disappointing to have rain and no dog-friendly places to go. So sorry, Molly.

  22. BOL sorry that you get car sick and you have been band from the beaches. The beach owners must have heard you were coming so they stuck up no dogs allowed signs.

    Aroo to you,

  23. Oh Molly we are so sorry your trip turned out to be a big bust!!! That is one of the reasons we don't travel to far either...maybe momma can just sit up a baby pool in the back yard for you.

  31. Oh dear, that doesn't sound like fun at all! But.. The worst days usually make the best stories later on. At least Sissy and the peeps have funny tales to tell!

  32. Ciara was never a very good car rider, Mom doesn't give her a chance to go very far any more so we have no clue if it is still an issue!!! Lightning is a wild boy when he rides (isn't he always?) and crawls all over the place. Only Phantom is good, just lies on the floor and doesn't make a sound:)

Our Dad had a terrible travel weekend too. Got stuck in Denver when he missed his flight due to bad weather in Colorado Springs, then got put on a flight to Chicago the next day that wouldn't get there until late at night, and finally a 6:00am flight home to KC on Monday morning - and he should have been home for dinner on Saturday!!! He was not a happy traveler.

Hope the week goes better for all.

Woos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning

  34. Molly so sorry you are not a traveling dog. Me I curl up and sleep and Lee has to wake me when it is time to get out. But sadly we don't seem to travel anymore. Lee does not like to drive distance by herself anymore. We thought maybe we would get to Put In Bay this summer but Lee's friend who we do thing with went to Illinois to visit her parents.
    Thanks for being a friend

  37. Oh Molly we are sorry your tummy wasn't up for the trip (or maybe it was MOL). But then the rest of the trip doesn't sound like it went that well either. Our mama says she has traveled once with a cat and will never do that again.

  39. Oh dear, that doesn't sound like a very fun trip at all. Tell the peep to look on the bright side though - at least she got a new outfit of it!

Hope your tummy is feeling better.

  41. Oh Molly, that does not sound like a holiday at all. I'm sorry you get so sick in the car and glad you are back at home now. Hunter does o.k. but we don't go on long trips with him. He'd rather be with us, but since he can't be when we travel he stays with Lily-and loves it.
Have a great day. Sending love your way.

  44. Before we got the 4 door sedan mom drove a convertible, 2-seat sports car, her baby. I threw up in it right between the seats, down the console in the middle, impossible to clean up. She just sold it this May one of the reasons because I didn't like to ride in it. Fond memories. Love Dolly

  52. We know it wasn't funny when it happened, but the day made for quite a funny story for the rest of us. Thanks. 55. When I was carsick long time ago my mom read it would help to put cotton wool in my one ear - yes, only one ear - it looked comical, but it helped. I have not been carsick since then, maybe because I dont want to look like a fool. LOL.

  56. I thought my cats managed to puke in some strange places, but you take the biscuit, Molly!
P.S. You'd better wait until your tummy has settled to eat the biscuit!!
