MOL MOL MOL Molly my peeps get the biggest charge out of crazy names. This is so ironic but so very true. Saturday mom was reading the obits in our paper. One name jumped off the page....
ReplyDeleteFannie Leak...we kid you not...that was a ladies name. Can you imagine the looks she must have rec'd when she told someone her name. Then yesterday there was another name in the obit David Creep.
#8 was hilarious...Mom's first name is Cecilia. It was not a very common name when she was a child. She always had to repeat it. She cannot imagine all the other names tacked on to it.
Thanks for the lol/mols this morning
hugs madi your bfff
You must be kidding us; these names hardly seem real ;-) I can't think of anything better than that. Have a great week.

ReplyDeleteWell, a long time ago, when Ma was a nurse, one of her geriatric patients was named....Seymour Wiener. We kid you not. Imagine growing up with that name...it's just cruel. BOL
ReplyDeleteOz
I am resigned to being Bertie or, occasionally Bertie-bubs. Gail had a class mate at school who was named Forest as she was born on the day Nottingham Forest won the FA Cup (in 1959).
ReplyDeleteMom read once that these weird ole parents named their little babies IMA PIGG and YOURA PIGG...I hope they sue them when they get older or change their names to something pretty.

ReplyDeleteWhat are parents thinking?? I've heard some bad ones too - read an article once about names and how they say more about our parents than about how we'll turn out. There was an actual pair of brothers named Winner and Loser. (Winner was a convicted criminal... Loser was a police officer.)
ReplyDeleteCrikey Winner and Loser!!! Too funny!!
DeleteSometimes I'm called "For the Love of Pete Maggie!" Long, but kind of catchy.
ReplyDeleteYours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher
My Mommy has many names she calls me when she forgets my name. Dammit is real popular. i think she just has a bad memory. I like Sasha and Molly is a lovely name as well.
ReplyDeleteLove Sasha

ReplyDeleteThose names are quite the mouthful!
ReplyDeleteWe have a hard time figuring out why some peeps come up with some of the nutty names that they come up with!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots♥
Mitch and Molly
It seems to me that some of these parents ought to have considered getting a dog or a horse- most of those sound like they are straight out of a kennel club show or off of a racetrack! Except for the parents of One Too Many. I sincerely hope they stuck with the theme for their next dozen or bakers dozen children! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't pay any attention to the silly names, unless there are treats involved!
ReplyDeleteYou have to wonder what those parents were thinking! Some of today's Hollywood "royalty" can come up with some doozies as well!
ReplyDeleteI was surprised to read that Gwyneth named her first child Apple. You wonder if ,as adults they will change them!
ReplyDeleteJo, Stella and Zkhat

ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Ohhhh yessssssssssss I do but none of them are fit to print...well, when Mom is mad at Cody she calls him "the fat striped gray bastard".............OHHHH YESSSSSSSSSS SHE DOES!!! But I didn't tell you that. Love, Dakota
ReplyDeleteMom often shakes her head is dismay at some of the names some humans give their kiddos:) You found some great ones - made us chuckle.

I had a neighbor once who named her daughter Star and their last name was Gazer ~ Hence the child was baptized Star Gazer. You should have heard those in attendance moan. I like this post Molly. Funny what people want their kids named.

Sweet William The Scot
Star Gazer ... OMD!!
DeleteWalter doesn't have any nicknames other than the usual variations of his given name. Millie on the other hand is often called "Silly Millie" or Monkey! BOL!
ReplyDeleteThere are certain celebrities that seem to love picking odd names for their offspring. I figure kids have problems enough growing up without saddling them with anything too weird.
ReplyDeletePat
Critter Alley
Crikey Molly .... that was a VERY funny post. I made a few replies ...... hope you don't mind but I got a bit carried away with all the names. So glad I'm just Charlie. It's not a bad name. Molly is nice too. If I was a sheila I would probably have been called Molly.
ReplyDeleteHi! Someone TW knew actually knew someone named Chanda Lear. Really. I’ll bet punk singers wouldn’t mind some of those names.
ReplyDeleteBOL I'm sometimes called Damnit Sully.
ReplyDeleteAroo to you,
Sully
My Daddy's name is Edgar Gay. He had an Aunt who was born Beverly Gay. She married a man named Robert Dyke so she became Beverly Dyke. She gave her daughter her maiden name as her middle name so Daddy's cousin's name was, until she got married Janice Gay Dyke

BOL! Those peeps from the 1800's had some crazy ideas when it comes to names...and here we thought Apple and Zuma were odd.
ReplyDeleteWally & Sammy
I worked in a high school and you would be astounded at the names! One I remember fondly was D'lanod. (Donald spelled backwards) It was pronounced DaLano. When I questioned the final 'd' he told me that it was silent!
ReplyDeleteWhat is it with Peeps and nick names?! She hardly ever calls me by my REAL name!
ReplyDeleteMolly, re-read Mommys P.S. part of the Bowling Post.
ReplyDeleteOh no, these just make me cringe! Like M.K. Clinton, I worked in a high school and saw some pretty funny ones. A lot of students were named for types of cars (ex. Lexus).
ReplyDeleteOMD! Now that is just sheer craziness!!
ReplyDeleteღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Hi Molly, That was such an interesting post! I think the worst thing I've ever called one of my pup is stupid-but that i one of those rare moments when I've lost my mind. Mainly it is just little man, bubba, little boy etc.

Wags, Noreen & Hunter

He deserves it. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
