Dog House Blog, Mad Men Sad Men!

Molly The Wally Pretty in Pink!

Over here we are tortured by the hideous meerkat adverts and particularly Aleksandr Orlov with his rubbish accent. Most nights I dream of de-stuffing, disemboweling and decapitating him and all is little friends. Here he meets his just desserts.

Speaking of bad ads here are some more truly awful ads from the past.

With Mornidine (anti-morning sickness drug) a good wife does not have to stop cooking breakfast for her husband now and she can even do it barefoot.

Hmmm designed for you but built for your husband? Yep maybe when I slam his head in it!

I think words are not enough for this one? I'll just go and pee in the shoe then!

Hmm depends what the substance is????

OK so it's not Christmas but keep it for birthdays and holidays! Don't forget to cry ladies.

Now that is so wrong. Who said you could remove my nose art off the window.

Palmolive the botox of its' time.

There you go ladies get on with the housework and don't forget to pop a pep or two!

What a rubbish present and sticking a bow on it does not pass for wrapping it up. I mean where is the element of surprise?

Looks at those nails. Hmm what cooking has she been doing? Or maybe they are false ones after breaking 14 nails while cleaning the cooker?

And remember don't forget, women know your place!

  1. BOL!!! My mum says those ads are just horrific!! She is gonna embrace her "Middle Aged Skin" !!

We got the Meerkat thing here too.

    Tail Wuggles, Rubie xxx

  2. MOL! Momma is laughing at your side comments. Too funny!

  3. Classic! reminds me of those brainless tupperware parties where we bought endless supplies of plastic picnic/kitchenwear and displayed it proudly - thank goodness the parties continue and the product is replaced by slightly more interesting things (like Anne Summers for example!) ...

  4. Hah! Do we even need to ask who wrote up those awful ads?

  5. Thank goodness things have changed and the guys learned to cook and clean - you know that's why they invented the robo vacuum cleaners - now they can watch football while they vacuum ;P

    Waggin at ya,

  6. OMD Molly Momz is once again laughing till it hurts...Funny thing is she's streaming the new episode of Mad Men right now...Aleksander and the meerkats are new to us, but Momz sez she can see where they'd get old quick

  7. LOL those ads are funny. It is a wonder they ever sold any of those products.

  8. MIZ M.!!!!!! Girl, you workin' that hat! GO GIRL! And thank you for reminding us of how far adverts have gone....I am not sure they are any better these days, but those old ones were RUBBISH INDEED! Again, another revealing of the stupid things humans do! You are super sluth MIZ MOLLY! Hugs, little one!

  9. One good thing is, I don't remember any of those ads..LOL have a wonderful day xx00xx

    Mollie and Alfie

  10. I have to say I love those old adds, nice to see how far we have come. While I do love retro clothes and styles I cant see peoples desire to return to the values of those days, eek

    urban hounds

  11. How times change...maybe....we might not see such blatant adds anymore.....but guess who still does most the cooking and cleaning ,

  12. She broke 14 nails cleaning the over?! How many fingers does she have? Or did she move on to scrubbing with her feet after the first 10 broke?

  13. WHY ...??? WHY OH WHY would ANYBUDDY want to remove our NOSE ART WORK? We just do NOT understand Peeps.

    Love that MeerKat thingy!!!

  14. Amazing how times change! A vacuum for Christmas????? Ok, ladies! You hubby's Christmas list will now include such things as lawn mowers and weed whackers, and anything else that you need him to work on.

  15. Once again, Molly, you have gathered a wonderful/terrible collection. Love looking at these. Your comments are an added bonus.

  16. Oh...good ones! I am not joking when I tell you that my mom did indeed...get a vacuum for her birthday once. She was MAAAAAAAAAAAAD!

  17. Good Lord! This post is about how to get killed by your wife!

  18. You always find the most interesting and entertaining stuff Miss Molly!

  19. Our Mom actually did get a vacuum for Christmas a few years ago HAHA. But she asked fur it, a Dyson, hoping it would suck up the pug hair that is everywhere.
    Bailey, Hazel & Greta

  20. How did they sell anything? I guess they also included some subtle mind altering message in them as well.

  21. One quick question - how does that woman have 14 fingernails???

  22. Hi Molly, If dad treated mum like that....its more than his head thats going to get slammed in the oven...... any way he is perfectly well trained now, he can even get his own beer from the fidge now! Who said you cannt teach an old dog new tricks.

  23. We have a Geico Insurance lizard ad we would like to decapitate, BOL
    Benny & Lily

  24. Amazing they were ever able to sell any of those products with those ridiculous ads - they all need to get the women at the top of their ad departments! So says our Momster!!!

Woos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning

  25. Hey Molly!
Wow, I thought the tele junk was bad today! Just look at those nutty ads. Mom likes those beer ads with the ginormous, gorgeous horses. Go figure.
    Grr and a Chuckling Woof,
    Sarge, Furiend

  26. Oh, Molly! Are we ever glad times have changed!

    Susan and Wrigs

  27. Wow, this was a very educational post! I am so glad that I didn't have to go through that era... I definitely would have ended up in jail for bloody murder after receiving a vacuum on Christmas morning!!!
ps. I am so happy that we were howling together last Friday morning, it's always funner with a furiend! :-)

  28. Oh my woof. Not that meerkat. Like you, if I could catch him in my jaws and shred him up, I would! I bark at him everyday! I wish he would just clear off of my telly!
Those adverts are truly awful! Especially the cigarette one. The slogan should be: "Blow in her face and you'll both get lung cancer"
On a brighter note, hope you had a terrific tuesday!
    Pippa :)

  29. Real unless ads we say. Good for the meerkat, yes he was a bit obnoxious!

    The Mad scots

  30. Molly, first I have to say you look divine in your fancy hat. My mom is laughing so hard from reading all those ads and your comments. Thanks for the fun.

  31. Yep that is exactly what my mom wants as a gift, a vacuum or worse a crockpot...geeze!!
    stella rose

  32. OMD!! Talk about Mad Men (and that just happens to be one of Mama's favorite shows!)

We'd hate to think of where Mama would put a hoover if Dad ever gave her one for Christmas! Yep...talk about being in the doghouse!!

    (((hugs)) your friends
    Oskar & Schatzi

  33. BOL!! Mum thinks those adverts are crazy!! Your comments too them made us giggle, as usual!!
    Love Milo :)

  34. I am woman, hear me roar
In numbers too big to ignore
And I know too much to go back an' pretend
'Cause I've heard it all before
And I've been down there on the floor
No one's ever gonna keep me down again
    Oh yes, I am wise
    Thanks for being a friend
    Sweet William the Scot

  35. Suddenly, I'm feeling so much better about living in the 21st century, despite the middle aged skin!
    Cheers, Gail.

  36. If the harder a girl works the cuter she is, most women should be downright adorable!

  37. We've come a long way, baby. SHE was going to vacuum the carpet today, but you've put HER right off it!

    XXXOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy

  38. Those were great Molly!

Butt.... We REALLY love your pretty pink hat!!

    Lily Belle & Muffin

  39. Gramma once got furious at Grandpa cos he gave her an electric can opener for Christmas. Not only are these offensive but the chick in the show one looks totally anoretic.

  40. OMD whoever made these sick ads should be boiled in there own pudding! You always find the most fun stuff Molly. You are sooooooooooooo cool, I am glad we are pals.

    Loveys Sasha

  41. That's one very chic topper you're sporting! Happy Tuesday!

  42. Oh it is a very good thing times have changed!

    Your Pals,

    Murphy & Stanley

  43. OMG!!! Produtos e presentes bons são bem vindos em qualquer hora... mas tem uns que ningueém merece! =(
Dog querido, Molly, eu estou de volta. Minha mamãe consertou o computador!!!
Beijocas da minha mammy e lambidas da turma de casa!

  44. We really have come a long way, baby...

  45. I think they are silly adds-- where are the adds with doggys?

  46. Good grief. Where in the world do you find these things! LOL! Hard to believe women didn't revolt.

  47. Just love those laughs! Thanks Molly!

  48. My biped was horrified by the thought of being given a kitchen appliance as a present - until she got to the Hoover for Christmas! But on second thoughts, that's heavier to knock some sense into him if he's that stupid, woof!

  49. OMD! Don't quite know what to say to those
