Kate Middletons' first portrait gets a internet makeover!
We dedicate todays' post to Max The Quilt Cat who is hosting 30 cat portraits in 30 days.As you know from our Turnip Prize Art Award (here) we call bad art Fart Art. So today we’d thought we’d take a look at Kate (Middleton) Windsors’ latest portrait which has not been received well here in the UK. It's received withering criticism and has been branded as rotten, ghastly and ordinary. Now some aspiring artists with some help from Photoshop have tried to improve Kates’ first official portrait.Kate has been given a makeover with the handiwork of the Spanish grandmother who decided to restore a 19th century fresco of Jesus rendering it valueless.
Mr.Bean gets in on the act sporting a lovely shade of eye shadow!
The Duchess has been given the Fatbooth app treatment, complete more chins
than a Chinese telephone directory.
Be afraid, be very
afraid! The Ghostbuster villain Vigo version!
Oh and one straight from The Royal
Academy Of Art! Priceless!
One for the ‘Twilight’ fans! Kate's addition to the vampire story would be
entertaining!
Nevermind
Kate we love you really! At least it hasn’t been voted the worst portrait ever
unlike dear Majs’ one. Good Save The Queen. From bad painters anyway!
Our
friends over at Max The Quilt Cat have told us about Sheila Wedegis
who is a great painter of dogs. She is doing 30 Paintings of 30 Dog Noses in
January. If you’d like to be included just
email your nose photos to sophieATpalm-spiritDOTcom.
Her web site is Here Let us have some fun. I have sent mine off for my nose portrait. It is going to be well better than Kates' was.
There is No Doom or Gloom In Mystic Mollys' Fortune!
As part of the Blogville Circus we will be hosting the Fortune telling
tent. Leave me a comment from now until the 1st Feb saying you would
like your fortune told and let us know if you want me to look into our crystal
ball, read the tarot, tea leaves or playing cards. Charge is $1, which you can
pay on the 15th & 16th details later. All proceeds
will be going to good causes.

I like the Molly Middleton picture and oh that "beaned" one is great too :o) What would Leonardo da Vinci say about this paintings?
ReplyDeleteWe think those street artists could have come up with a much better portrait of Kate. We wonder if they have "accidentally lost" the painting by now?
ReplyDeleteThe first is definitely the best, Mollie, you look absolutely beautiful and could do some fabulous stand ins for Kate with a couple of hair extensions if she is busy. The joker pic is pretty good too - I do like a big smile on a photo. Betty
ReplyDeleteNot very flattering at all we think, we love the Mr Bean and Joker one though!
ReplyDeleteOooh, we would love our fortune told, it will be fun to have something to cheer us up.
Dip Bridge and Elliot x
OH those are all so funny! Hope Kate doesn't see this though!
ReplyDeleteLovies, Miss Mindy
I wonder what she thinks about the painting, does she care as much as we all do? We like the Joker the best. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteOh so funny today Molly...The original is rather strange...She looks so old and she has a black eye...hmmm, maybe the royals had to economize and found the artist on Craig's list BOL!
ReplyDeleteMolly once again you have mom rolling on the floor with tears in her eyes...and trust me that is a funny sight.
ReplyDeletehugs Madi your BFFF
GOOD GOLLY MIZ MOLLY, you got a new "do" it seems in that first photo? You look RAVISSANTE!
ReplyDeleteI think the Duchess is just gorgeous but the oil painting does not show her true beauty. I don't know, just my opinion!
I'd hate to be the artist commissioned to paint a Royal. You just know the public will have a lot to say! And even worse when the mock-ups are more fun than the original!
ReplyDeleteThat was GREAT! Thank you for the smile....I needed it!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the dedication Molly... We love this post... Very creative.
ReplyDeletehugs, Max, Bugsy and Knucles
Oh Molly, Bites went all into a swoon over that painting of you, those eyes, that mouth and that or so pretty nose, even kinda had me teary eyed!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals
Sus & Bites
BOL BOL MOlly! Love the Mr Bean one, hadn't seen that before.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe how old and drab that painting makes Kate look. Such a shame.
I rather like her portrait. But what do I know about art. Not much I guess.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
Oh my--poor Kate! It must be so hard living a high-profile life always in the public eye. Your portrait is lovely, though, Molly.
ReplyDeleteSusan and Wrigs
Oh my goodness did you ever give me the giggles!
ReplyDeleteMolly..... A friend of mine, Sheila Wedegis is a great painter of dogs. She is doing 30 Paintings of 30 Dog Noses in January. I wanted to email you, but couldn't find your address ... Anyway, she saw your nose in that first picture at the top of the post today and would like permission to paint your nose.
ReplyDeleteYou can let me know by emailing me at maxthequiltcat AT gmail DOT com.
Thanks..... hugs, Max.

ReplyDeleteMADAM MOLLY.... ERNEST von Schnitzel and I (Frankie Furter) would very much LOVE to have you do READINGS fur us.
ReplyDeleteOMD... that Fart Art is... well, it is Different.
Hi Molly,
ReplyDeleteWell what can I say, the artist should have gone to Spec Savers...say no more!
Oh My!! Pretty funny!
ReplyDeleteThank you for caring about Winston, I should hear back today.

ReplyDeleteOh Dawg Molly, wouldn't it be funny if Kate read your blog..LOL Put uz down for a reading, one'z for Mez and one'z for Alf :) Haz you a magician, one who make'z Cat'z disappear..BOL xx00xx

ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Bwhaha, oh Molly you are the BEST!
ReplyDeleteSlobbers
Hey Molly!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's really funny! What a great gallery. I'm partial to the bean version. BOL
Grr and Woof,
Sarge, COP
I haven't seen her portrait yet. It does look a little blah I guess. I wonder why neither of them are smiling in their portraits?
ReplyDeleteI like yours the best. That Vigo looks like Bob in Twin Peaks. MOL.
ReplyDeleteMr. Bean and the Joker are my favorites. Those are really funny.
ReplyDeleteLoveys Sasha
WOW! Some of those paintings scared the furs off of us!! YIKES!
ReplyDeleteWally & Sammy
Molly, this is absolutely amazing and it did brighten up my day!
ReplyDeleteWe were just reading an article in which the artist was defending his work. His main explanation was the portrait didn't photograph well. Somehow we don't think it would look much better in person. We like the Joker version Molly.
ReplyDeletePurrs,
Cindi Lou & The Kitty Krew
They're all improvements! But I like the first one the best of all.
ReplyDeleteThe Mr Bean one is hilarious! Oh dear, poor girl, poor artist.
ReplyDeleteLOL... that first photo is great!
ReplyDeleteI don't see anything wrong with her portrait either but I do think the alternatives are pretty funny!
ReplyDeleteHahaha come of those are scary. I guess the official one is not that bad after all. Of course the first one is best! ;)
ReplyDeleteUh, we have to say the way they made her mouth lines makes her look REALLLLLLYYYYY old. But we think if she was to use the Joker one that she would be just fine.
ReplyDeleteWith a mom as prettyful as her, and the pretty genes in William (but not really present in his face much...) they should have nice looking babies.
Shelle, Milo, Dixie and Newby,
