Molly The Wally & Her First Toy!

Playmobil, The Toys That Make You Think Why?

After we discovered the delights of Playmobils’ lets’s play bank robbers toy (herewe thought we’d have a look at what other toys they have for sale. Oh and yes we came across a couple of winners. Firstly there is Playmobils’ Security Check Point.

Then we thought we’d check out the customer reviews. Here is the best one.

Great lesson for kids!

I was a little disappointed when I first bought this item, because the functionality is limited. My 5-year-old son pointed out that the passenger's shoes couldn’t be removed. Then, we placed a deadly fingernail file underneath the passenger's scarf, and neither the detector doorway nor the security wand picked it up. My son said, "that's the worst security ever!". But it turned out to be okay, because when the passenger got on the Playmobil B757 and tried to hijack it, she was mobbed by a couple of other heroic passengers, who only sustained minor injuries in the scuffle, which were treated at the Playmobil Hospital.

The best thing about this product is that it teaches kids about the realities of living in a high-surveillance society. My son said he wants the Playmobil Neighborhood Surveillance System set for Christmas. I've heard that the CC TV cameras on that thing are pretty worthless in terms of quality and motion detection, so I think I'll get him the Playmobil Abu-Gharib Interrogation Set instead (it comes with a cute little memo from George Bush).

Then there is the Playmobil Police Station Extension - Prison Cell
And the review........

Great teaching tool for future interrogators!

Wow! I got this toy to go with my kid's Guantanamo Bay action set. I have to hand it to those kids working in Chinese labor camps they really get the details down quite well. If I may give one suggestion please make them so you can actually lock the doors. My son likes to play "So who wants to be a terrorist" with his pet mice. Also, he complained that the cavity exam room lacked restraints.

Happy days!

  17. There was a bank robber in KC last week who got shot in the face by one of the workers. We were so proud of that worker and hope it keeps other dummies from doing that in the future!

  23. I remember when I was a kid we had assault rifles that looked real!
This post reminds me of the Harry Potter vibrating broomstick that they took off the market..

  24. Having a tough time believing these are real toys, but there's something impawtant missing from both...the dogs! Where's the drug sniffing dog at the security checkpoint? Where's the guard dog patrolling the cell? Major omissions!

Molly, Momz and I want to nominate our pal Kirby from Krby's Dog Blog for this week's Share It Sunday http://kirbysdawgblog.com/

Kirby's a cutie and his momz has a great Thursday series on dog breeds going on...You'll like Kirby

  30. The little bipeds here have some of that Playmobil stuff too. But they really LOVE legos. Mom goes nuts because she spends hours helping them follow the directions to build the things, and then poof, one wrong move and they fall apart:)

  32. OMG that is so funny. I like to see that people are being sarcastic about this. Really I don't even understand WHO would think this was a good toy market. Perhaps to be used in therapy offices for the little children who are traumatized by TSA.

  51. Hi Molly,

Well what can I say, perhaps the Home Office should think of investing in some of these, although not perfect they are alot better than the systems we have, Teresa May-Be or May-be-not MAY want to give a go.
